• General

• Some members of my group share the same email address. Is it possible to have more than one participant with the same address?

  You can create many participants with the same email address. The emails are always sent to the person concerned. Please note that the results of the draw are never sent via email.

• Is there a limit to how many participants can join the group?

  No, there is no limit. The group may take the proportions that you desire, there is absolutely no problem.

• Is this site is compatible with all browsers?

  Absolutely! No need to install modules such as flash or java, all modern browsers are natively compatible:

  -Microsoft Edge
  -Safari
  -opera 32 and above
  
  I highly recommend the browsers Chrome, Safari or Firefox because they are optimized for this type of web site.

• Why keep advertising on the site?

  As the costs of web hosting are not free, it allows the site to survive on its own without charging users for services rendered to them.

• How can I quickly access a list of gifts on my mobile phone?

  Use an RSS reader using the link titled "Join the list" just below the wish list of the selected participant.

• The site froze or slowed significantly with Internet Explorer Version 9. What's going on?

  Microsoft had the brilliant idea to incorporate a feature for compatibility with earlier versions of Internet Explorer. When you enable this mode, the browser may begin to slow down significantly on the site until completely frozen. To disable this compatibility mode, click the small icon that looks like a torn piece of paper which is right next to the address bar. If you dont' want anymore surprises like this from a browser I strongly recommend you use Google Chrome.

• I forgot my password and my email address is no longer valid. What can I do to join my group?

  Obviously without an e-mail address, you will never receive your password with the link that allows you to retrieve it. in such a situation, please contact your group manager, he can correct your email address. if you are an manager, please contact webmaster@en.pikkado.com and provide as much information as possible to facilitate the search for your account.

• How do I write anonymously to a participant of my group?

  Select the participant in the list, click on the button with an envelope and use the link "Write to this member" you will then be asked if you want this message to be sent anonymously.

• Is it possible to write to someone who has picked a person in particular?

  Yes, to do this, select the participant in the list, click the link with the envelope that allows you to write to the person that has picked the selected participant.

• I have a Gmail account and I do not receive messages from Pikkado. What can I do?

  Gmail sorts incoming messages in a way that Pikkado cannot control. Messages sent often end up in the Promotions tab of your inbox.

• I am a member of two groups on the site, but I have to go through authentication to pass from one to another?

  To correct the problem, you should change your profile information so that the two accounts are identical. The name, email address and password must be the same for each account you want to merge.

• I would like to report a problem on the site, how can i do it?

  Use the link at the top right in the menu bar with the ladybug icon, where it says: "Report a bug". We will answer as quickly as possible.

• Can we change the gift order of the gift list?

  Yes just above the gift list, on the right, there are two small arrows. Select the gift and click on the appropriate arrow to move it up or down the list.

• I forgot my password and my email address is no longer valid. What can I do to join my group?

  Obviously without an email address you'll never receive your password with the link that allows you to retrieve it. In such a situation, please write to your group manager, he can correct your email address.
  
  If you have access to your email, please click the link in the box intended for this purpose.

• Why can't anybody see my wish list when I'm able to see my own list?

  When the manager resets the last exchange, your previous wish list will still be valid since many people are going to reuse some of the suggestions they had in previous exchanges. For this reason, the list should not be visible to avoid that the person who picked you is mistakenly led to beleive that she can buy gifts from your old outdated list. This situation could happen to latecomers. To avoid this, you will notice a "Publish" button below the wish list in a red box. Click it when your list is ready, it will then allow others to see your new updated list.

• The registration link I received from my group manager constantly brings me back to home page. How can I join my group?

  Your registration link is no longer valid probably because your organizer deleted your account shortly after sending the invitation, even though your account was recreated shortly after. Ask him to send you a personal invitation.

• I have a Microsoft account (hotmail, msn, outlook, live, etc.) and I am not able to receive messages from Pikkado, what can I do?

  You will most likely find your message in Junk Email folder. To avoid this in the future, open the message and click on Mark as not junk.

• Can participants suggest gifts once the draw has been done?

  The draw is totally independent from the participant's actions. Only adding or removing participants to the draw is impossible.

• Group manager

• I did the draw, but I forgot to activate one of the participants. What can I do?

  You have no choice but to start new draw again. Don't forget to let your participants know by sending an e-mail message to the whole group. To do this, click on the "group options" button.

• I want to change the name of one of my participants, but the field is not editable?

  The names and spouses are no longer editable once the participant has registered for the simple reason that if you change this information he will not be able to join the group. The participant can change his own information.

• Is there a way to include a description, some instructions or a theme for the exchange?

  Yes, click on the “group options” button, and open the “home page message” menu. Your message will flash red for a few seconds when a participant enters the gift manager to get their attention.

• Is there a way to exchange gifts without the organizer beeing part of the draw?

  Yes, go to the top menu, pull down the menu under your name, choose "my profile" and check the box "I want to be excluded from the draw". Obviously you can perform this operation as long as the draw is not launched.

• Is it possible to prevent spouses from picking each other?

  Yes in the list of participants, click on the gear and open the link "view modify profile" there is a drop-down list entitled "Will not draw this person (spouse)". Form couples in that section.

• Why is the spouse list not editable when I try to modify a profile?

  It's probably because the draw has already been conducted. You must re-launch the draw beforehand.

• Can I use the site outside the holiday season?

  Yes the site is available year round.

• Is the information kept from one year to another?

  Yes, when you come back the following year, the members, gifts, spouses, etc. is kept. All you will need to do is reset the exchange and repeat the process, including the draw and the invitations.

• I created a group by mistake. Is it possible to remove it?

  Yes, go to the gift exchange site, select the group to remove if you are already part of several groups. Go to the exchange tab and open the last option that is titled: remove this group. Please note that all group parameters are editable. You do not have to remove it.

• Some members of my group did not receive their invitation, why?

  Sometimes in certain situations, the emails sent are mistaken for spam by spam filters. Tell the participant to go to the spam folder for this purpose in his email options. After the correction the user should be able to receive future invitations. However, please note that Facebook will block all messages sent from anybody not part of the friend list. You sould therefore use another email address to prevent this problem from occuring.

• How can I add a participant to the group?

  Once connected to your group, click the "add participant" button above the list of participants. This is obviously impossible if a draw has already been conducted. You must re-launch the draw beforehand.

• What are exclusion groups?

  By inserting some participants from your group in an exclusion group, it will be impossible for them to draw each other. This option is ideal for exchanges involving children or simply to avoid conflicts amongst people who do not like each other.

• Is it possible to influence the course of the draw?

  Yes there are several options available to you. You can define for each profile, who is their spouse, which allows you to choose the option "Avoid spouses from drawing each other" in the options of the draw. You can check the option "avoid mutual draw" which will, for example prevent Suzy from drawing Mark, if Mark drew Suzy. You can also use the "Avoid drawing the same person as in the last draw" but this restriction will only be possible if you reuse the same group year after year (see the question on reusing a group) . Finally, using the "Use exclusions groups" option, you can define groups of people who will not be able to draw each other.

• Can I reuse the same group year after year, even though participants have to be added or removed from the draw?

  Yes, when you want to start a new exchange, nothing could be simpler! On your group's main page, click on the "Reset the last draw" button, which will allow you to re-invite, add or remove participants from the group and start a new draw. It is strongly recommended not to recreate the group, it is likely to cause confusion, your members connecting to the wrong group with a different account. Moreover, by doing so, you will not be able to use the option that prevents a person from drawing the same person as last time.

• How can you hide all the wish lists except the one from the person we have drawn?

  Click on the "group options" button and activate the option "Hide wishlists".

• Can my participants know if I used exclusion groups?

  All the parameters you have defined remain confidential. Nobody will know that you have specified.
